

Kathlyn Lucas Schnabel, age 85, died of congestive heart failure in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, on Wednesday, June 9, 2010. She was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, on October 28, 1924. She was preceded in death by her parents Richmond Rhodes Lucas and Marie Louise Eichling Lucas, her husband James William Schnabel, whom she married on March 12, 1943 and divorced in 1976, and one brother, Richmond Joseph Lucas. She is survived by two children, Betty Anne Schnabel Trebert, and James Joseph Schnabel and his wife Carol Lee Voors Schnabel, three grandchildren, Blake Rhodes Trebert, Stephen Lee Schnabel, and Daniel Lucas Schnabel, her beloved sister-in-law Laura Audrey Lopez Lucas, and nieces and nephews whom she loved very much.
She worked as a stenographer for legal and insurance firms, and was a portrait artist on Jackson Square in New Orleans for thirty years. She moved to Oklahoma City in 2006 following Hurricane Katrina. Her interests included genealogy, European literature and history, traveling, gardening, and Native American art and culture.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass from the New Orleans Home of JACOB SCHOEN & SON, 3827 Canal St. at N. Scott; on Saturday, June 19, 2010 at 1:00 pm.
