

Linda Marie Gandt Schulingkamp, beloved mother, grandmother, sister and nurse, passed away on March 20, 2011. Devoted to her family, friends and patients, Linda will be remembered for her generosity of spirit, warmth, and fun loving nature.
Born on November 7, 1947 in Coffeeville, Kansas to Magdalene and Richard Gandt, Linda grew up in Mobile, Alabama. She attended W.P. Davidson High School, where she was the treasurer of the Phi Gamma Sorority, a member of the Gayfers Teen Board, Junior Classical League, and the Pep Club. She also represented her school by serving as a Maid of the Azalea Trail Court, a group of young women who were ambassadors for the city of Mobile.
She attended LSU and graduated with an associate of science degree in nursing. While at LSU she also met and married David P. Schulingkamp.
Linda had a longstanding career at Tulane Lakeside Hospital. During her tenure, she worked in the neonatal ICU caring for premature babies and offering support to their families.
Linda was an avid gardener. She also loved the Gulf Coast and took pleasure in spending time with friends and family in Gulf Shores, Alabama. In recent years, she also enjoyed trips to California to visit longtime friends.
Linda is survived by her beloved daughter Amy Marie Schulingkamp, son Mark Lashley Schulingkamp, brother Gary Richard Gandt, and grandson Andrew Wallace.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 26 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and a memorial service at 4 p.m. at Jacob Schoen & Son Funeral Home located at 3827 Canal Street, New Orleans, LA.
