Lucia Faraldo Baralt

Lucia Faraldo Baralt was called home to Heaven on July 7, 2012. She passed away peacefully of natural causes in Baton Rouge, LA. Born in Havana, Cuba on May 4, 1923, she came to New Orleans, LA in 1965, where she lived happily with her husband and children for the next 30 years. After her husband's death in 1995, she went to live with her eldest daughter and son-in-law in Baton Rouge, where she resided for the past 17 years. She was the daughter of the late Fernando and Gloria Faraldo, and was also preceded in death by her loving husband of 51 years Reinaldo Baralt, son Ray Baralt, daughters Sonia Sanders (surviving husband Rob) and Ana Maria Baralt, and brothers Geraldo Faraldo (late wife Maria) and Fernando Faraldo (surviving wife Vivian).

She is survived by daughter Betty Arias (husband Jose), and sons Armando Baralt (wife Trina), Fernando Baralt (wife Amy), and Alexander Baralt (wife Michelle). Grandchildren Michelle Arias Alonso (husband Ricardo), Anton Baralt, Bronwyn Baralt, Nicholas Sanders, Brandon Baralt, Victor Baralt, Cristina Baralt, Alena Baralt, Rian Baralt, Niko Baralt, and Luka Baralt. Great-grandchildren Ricky and Kathryn Alonso. Also survived by brother Jesus Faraldo (wife Araceli) and sisters Gloria Rodriguez (late husband Alfred) and Elina Jimenez (husband Carlos), as well as many nieces. The family would like to especially thank Maria Arias for her loving support and care.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral service at JACOB SCHOEN & SON FUNERAL HOME, 3827 Canal St. on Friday, July 13, 2012. Visitation will begin at 10:00 A.M followed by Catholic mass at 11:00 A.M. Interment to follow in St. Patrick No. 1 Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to Alzheimer's Association (www.alz.org) preferred.
