Melvin Jacob Hoerner

Melvin Jacob Hoerner, age 72, passed away on Sunday, April 24, 2011. He was born on October 8, 1938 in New Orleans, LA son of the late Frank Hoerner and the late Mary Fitch Hoerner. He served in the United States Marines in the infantry. He was a self made entrepreneur, co-owner of Melvin’s Bar and Marie’s Bar. He is survived by his sons, Marc, Jason and Scott Hoerner and their spouses; grandchildren, Marc, Brooke and Jacob Hoerner. He is also survived by his significant other of 18 years, Marie Miele, his sister, Carol DiSalvo and her children, his former wife, Letti Lynn Hoerner and countless friends. Melvin was a graduate of Jesuit High School and attended UNO.

Visitation will take place at JACOB SCHOEN & SON, 3827 Canal Street, at N. Scott on Thursday, April 28, 2011 from 6:00 P.M. to 9:00 PM and on Friday, April 29, 2011 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM with Funeral Mass at 11:00 A.M.
