Peter Andrew Russ

Peter Andrew Russ passed away peacefully in his sleep in Austin, Texas on Tuesday, March 22, 2011. Peter was born in New Orleans on July 31, 1989 and grew up in Metairie. He was a resident of Austin, Texas for the past 6 months. He was a beloved son of Kiki Treuting Russ and J. Kevin Russ, M.D. Brother of Amelie Russ Comeaux (husband Austin Comeaux), John, C. Kyle, William, and Mari Claire; uncle of Louis Allen Comeaux; grandson of Honey and Bill Russ, and Tut and Louis Treuting. Peter's memory will be cherished by his many Treuting and Russ cousins. Peter's life is a tribute to his love of his family, New Orleans culture, and his many, many friends. He will always be remembered for his infectious laughter, radiating smile, generous heart, and love of Uncle Jack's jambalaya at Pig Fest. Over the years, Peter has developed many strong relationships that grew into a larger, extended family. His passion for live music truly represents his ever-reaching generous soul. Every show he went to, he met a new dancing partner that he counted as a new friend among many.

Peter graduated from Archbishop Rummel High School in 2008 and attended Austin Community College. Peter will always have a special place in his heart for the friends and teachers he knew at Christian Brothers School, where he won the Brother Harold Turner Falcon Award. Christian Brothers fostered his love of sports and competition. His athleticism was proved through years of swimming and coaching at both Colonial Country Club and the Beach Club, as well as the various sports he played throughout his school career.

Family and friends are invited to attend Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday March 26, 2011 at Jacob Schoen and Son Funeral Home, 3827 Canal St, at 2:00 pm. Visitation will precede the Mass beginning at 11:00 am. Interment will be private.
