

Vivian Keating Dodson (Vickie) quietly passed away on November 23 at the age of 85. Vickie was the daughter of the late Chester L. Keating, Sr. and Bertha Keating. She was preceeded in death by her sister Doris Keating Alonzo and two brothers Vernon and Weldon Keating. She has one surviving brother, Chester L. Keating, Jr. She will be sadly missed by her surviving sister-in-law Kathleen Wells Keating.
Vickie was born in New Orleans but had been living in Covington for many years. She was married to the late Edward Dodson with whom she worked in their real estate business. Prior to meeting and marrying Ed, Vickie worked in the banking business and was the first female manager in the city. She had been active with the Republican Ladies Group and was a charter member of the National World War II Museum. She enjoyed golf, painting and taking frequent pleasure flights with Ed in their airplane. World traveling was another one of her passions.
Vickie will be truly missed by all of her nieces and nephews as well as their children. She was an elegant and beautiful woman who had a positive and loving effect on everyone who knew her.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass at 12:00 Noon, on Friday, December 2, 2011 from the New Orleans home of Jacob Schoen & Son 3827 Canal St. Visitation will begin at 11:00 AM until service time.
