Whitney Laurent Jefferson

Whitney Laurent Jefferson (Mickey) entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, January 4, 2012 at the age of 80. Beloved son of the late Hilda and Andrew W. Jefferson. Preceded in death by brothers Charles D. Jefferson, Andrew W. Jefferson, Jr. and sister Gilda Augustine. Survivors include one daughter, Gladys Prieto; two brothers, Jesse J. Jefferson and Ronald A. Jefferson; four sisters, Suma Diarra, Marlene Harris, Marie Ormond and June Barnett Collins; three grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank a host of friends at St, Margaret’s Daughters who have supported him through every step of his journey and Hospice for their dedicated care.

A Funeral Service will be celebrated at Jacob Schoen and Son Funeral Home, 3827 Canal St., on Tuesday, January 10, 2012 at 11:00 AM. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Disabled Veterans of America.
