Christine Marie Counsil Joyce

Christine Marie Joyce, age 60, of New Plymouth passed away at home Saturday December 10, 2016. Graveside Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday December 27, 2016 at Sunset Cemetery in Ontario. Father Camilo Garcia will officiate. Following the Graveside will be a wake, all family and friends are invited to attend. Christine known as Chris to her friends and family was born on May 30, 1956 in Ontario, Oregon to Owen Chester and Mary Christine (Maddison) Counsil. She was one of three siblings, brothers Noel and Casey Counsil.

She lived in New Plymouth all of her life and graduated from New Plymouth High School in 1974. Then went to Treasure Valley Community College where she graduated with an Associate’s Degree.

She enjoyed participating in the local rodeos and was once a rodeo queen. She was also a member of the New Plymouth Quick Response Unit for many Years.

Afterwards she went to work for Overhead Door as accountant for many years. She met her husband Greg Joyce one night and one thing led to another and the two were married. She was never supposed to be able to have children, but eventually she was blessed with two boys. First, with John Noel Joyce in 1993, and then, Joseph Parker Joyce in 1995. She was a loving mother to both her children and supported them in all their undertakings no matter what they were. Greg and Chris lived a happy life together in New Plymouth until his death in 2011.

She leaves behind both of her sons and many loving members of her family and many loving friends.

She was preceded in death by husband Greg, both her parents, and her brother Casey.
