On Monday, October 1, 2018, Gerald Lee Elson, of New Plymouth, ID, passed away at the age of 75. Gerald was born on July 14, 1943, in Ontario, OR, to Alvin and Pearl (Purdy) Elson. Gerald was raised on a farm in New Plymouth, ID where he met his high school sweetheart and eventual bride Sherry Anderson. He married Sherry on April 07, 1961, in New Plymouth, ID. Gerald enjoyed his horse packing and UTV mountain trips with relatives and teaching his children how to enjoy the Lord’s outdoors. In everything he did, his heart was always in farming.
Gerald was preceded in death by his mother and father. He is survived by his wife and all of his children and grandchildren. He loved being with family and believed life was good. At the time of his death, he was surrounded by his wife and all of his children and some of the grandchildren.

Gerald Lee Elson
October 6, 2018
I was lucky enough in my career at FSA in the year of 2000 to have our NW Area Executive (Gerald Elson) have trust in me to be on the negotiation committee in WDC! Wow what an honor, but what I really didn't realize at the time what a Wonderful Man/friend that GOD had brought into my life! I thrived each year at National Convention time that I would be able to get a "Big Ole Bear Hug" from Mr. Gerald! Gerald and Sherry were always so inviting and always made everyone feel so welcomed over a few refreshments with a lot of laughs. I truly cherish the friendship we made throughout the years with such wonderful friends. I always looked up to him as such a leader, and he taught me so many things. I am forever grateful for the memories. Prayers to Sherry, the kids, in-laws, and especially the grandkids who were still absorbing everything he had to offer in life! A Great Man that will deeply missed by everyone.
With sincere Sympathy
