Jeremy Clay Eggers

September 25, 1976May 17, 2019

On the afternoon of May 17th, 2019 Jeremy C. Eggers of New Plymouth, Idaho, tragically passed away when the loader he was operating slid into a nearby body of water. At the age of 42, this sudden and unexpected passing has caused much sadness, but his family has been comforted by all of the love and support they have received from those who knew him. Jeremy was born on September 25th, 1976 in Caldwell, Idaho to Ken and Penny (LaCrone) Eggers. He was raised on the family dairy and farm in New Plymouth and graduated in 1994 from New Plymouth High School where he played football and was active in the FFA program. On June 12, 1998, Jeremy married his high school sweetheart, Monica Knee from Fruitland, Idaho. They were blessed with four amazing children. Jeremy was known for his incredible work ethic and spent time working on the family dairy, working for various power companies as a lineman, and he also installed and maintained phones for the Telmate company. Jeremy was an avid fisherman and hunter and was possibly the luckiest man to ever pick up a gun or rod. Jeremy is survived by his wife of 18 years, Monica; his children, Jordan age 19, Sydney 17, Xander 12, and Eli 10, his mother Penny LaCrone, his father Ken Eggers, his sister Jennifer Hergert, and his nephew Austin Sobralski. We thank you all for your love, support and prayers in this difficult time. “The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” Psalm 34:18

Growing up, I looked up to Jeremy as an older brother. We were step brothers for many years and my sister and I would spend our summer months on the farm in New Plymouth with the family. I would often pass those summer months by finding out what he was doing and following him into whatever adventure we could find; helping with the dairy, working irrigation, tractor work, riding the four wheelers, enjoying multiple ice cream bars, lifting weights, etc. Jeremy taught me a lot by his actions. He worked hard, he was diligent to finish a task and had a great sense of humor even in the most mundane of activities. He also had quite a keen understanding of when the stress of the dairy was at it’s peak and we both learned how to avoid the eye of the storm and find other things to do during those tough moments. He was compassionate and kind but didn't want that known because he was a tough guy, a football player, an outdoorsman and a bull rider. I knew the truth and that truth made me like him.

As I got older, Jeremy and his new family (the Knee’s) were incredibly welcoming to me and my sister. I cherished being in He and Monica’s wedding and enjoyed watching their family grow over the years. Jeremy had a big impact and left a positive impression in all our hearts. I pray that Monica and their Children will be comforted in a way that is only possible from our Heavenly Father. For Ken, Penny, Jennifer, Austin and the rest of the LaCrone and Eggers family that you all hold tight to each other and the strength that Jeremy and the rest of Heaven provide you from above.

With love, Eric Mettler
