Karen and Jerry Platz married in August of 1969. She and Jerry were blessed with four children; Beckie, Tracey, Angie and Kerry Lee the second child, died at birth. They had five granddaughters, Sara, Katie, Hailey, Torey, and Jade; five grandsons, Cody, Zach, Trentin, Dakota, and Jesse; as well as three great granddaughters, DeLenn, Aeden, and Izzibelle and one great grandson, Gordon.
She is preceded in death by her father, mother, sister Karen Lee, and youngest brother.
Karen was a strong willed person. She had many interests. Artist and writer; creativity was one of her strong suits. She crocheted; blankets, toys and lots of other things with ease. Gardening; growing flowers, vegetables, and tomatoes. As an avid reader nothing of interest would escape her. She loved nature and animals. And hunting and fishing trips; she liked staying at the camp with a good book. She enjoyed music and a good movie or a challenging video game. But at the end of the day she could put a project of building something together with her mind and most tools. She wore many hats for the many things she did in her life but it all came down to what she did to help many.
She was a very important person in our lives.....She will be sorely missed....There's a hole in our lives that no one can fill....mother, grandmother, wife, friend....no one can be as much as she was to us all.
Her big heart helped so many families, friends, animals and even an occasional stranger.
In lieu of flowers, please donate the Food Bank in Middleton, Idaho in Karen Platz's name.
