Manuel Henry Borge
January 13, 1936 – December 18, 2013
Manuel Henry Borge passed away on December 18, 2013. Manuel was born in San Jose, California, on December 13, 1936, to John Manuel Borge and Delphina Borge. He was the youngest of their six children.
Manuel died peacefully at home with Carol Jean Borge, his loving wife, of fifty-four years. Manuel and Carol were married May 1, 1959. They were later sealed for time and all eternity, on June 17, 1960, in the LDS Los Angles Temple. Manuel and Carol were the parents of seven children; Stephanie (Seley), John, Grant, Catherine (Roberts), Matthew, Michael & Jared. Manuel’s love of his Wife, his Children and his strong Spiritual Belief, guided his life, here on this earth. His faith in his Savior Jesus Christ gave him strength to endure the struggles of this life.
Manuel served honorably, in the United States Air Force, during the Korean War. He was a credit to his Country all the days of his life.
After being Honorably Discharged from the Air Force, he attended San Jose City College. He would later attended Eastern Oregon University, University of Idaho and Pepperdine University. Manuel put himself through college to become a Teacher, Principal, Director of Migrant Education and eventually, a Superintendent. He accomplished all of this while raising and supporting his family. He worked in the Oregon and Idaho Educational systems for 36 years. After retiring, Manuel enjoyed teaching and helping the inmates at the Snake River Correctional Institution. Even as his health was failing him, he had a strong desire to help others.
At Manuel’s passing, he left behind his Wife, 7 Children, 28 Grand Children and 6 Great Grand Children, all of which look forward to being reunited with him someday.

Dear Carol and Borge Family,
We love all of you so much and we are aching for all of you. We will miss our times together with Manuel. He has been there for Bob and I all of our married life. We know he is out of pain now and this makes us happy for him but it doesn't fill the emptiness. It has been a few weeks since he passed and we hope that each of you are finding peace and comfort as the days go by especially Carol. Carol, he is preparing for the time you can be together for eternity. Families will be together forever because of the Atonement of Jesus Christ, and because of our obedience. What a happy day it will be. I can see the smile on his face, he is happy and wants each of you to find joy.
All our love.

Glenn and I were so saddened to hear of Manny's passing. As a good neighbor and friend, he was always willing to lend a hand and share his wisdom and knowledge, as well as many of his life stories. We love you both and will truly miss him. Glenn and Sherill Blan

I know that it is bittersweet to see Manuel go. We are all glad that he is no longer suffering, but he will truly be missed. My thought and prayers of comfort and peace go out to Carol and his children, grand children, and great grandchildren.

Gary & I will always love both you and Manuel. we wish he would have been well enough to have those ribs at Charlie Clark's one more time. We often talk about how much he loved those ribs, and devoured them clear to the bone. Our love for you two is greater than we can express.
