Dora Eunice Ratte

Dora passed peacefully on August 2, 2012, in Danbury CT after suffering a stroke. Her final days were spent surrounded by family and friends.

Dora was born on October 24, 1923 in Peekskill NY, the daughter of Stanley and Theresa Tucci. Her life was defined by her love of family, food, adventure and fun. She loved skiing, skating and tennis and imbued the love of sports and competition in her children. Her sense of style was legendary, wearing dramatic hats, creating spectacular flower arrangements, and producing memorable dinner parties that went long into the night. She kept family close and alive through the stories she shared.

Dora is survived by her husband, Robert, her children, Pierre Ratte’; Maria Pia Seirup and her husband, Peter; Jeffrey Ratte’ and his wife, Sara Moorehead; six grandchildren and one great-granddaughter; her brother, Stanley Tucci and his wife Joan; and her sister, Rosalinda Rachiele and her husband Lee; and many nieces and nephews. Dora’s brother, Frank and all the family that came before will be welcoming her in heaven.

A celebration of her life and memorial service is planned for Tuesday, 11:00 AM at Jesse Lee Memorial United Methodist Church, 207 Main Street, Ridgefield, CT 06887, 203-438-8791.

In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made to benefit the Outreach and Community service projects of Dora's churches - Jesse Lee and Norfield.
