Mrs. Helene Gaito Lorenzo

Born in Mount Vernon, NY, she was the youngest of seven children born to the late Joseph and Mary (Gallo) Gaito. After graduating Mount Vernon High School, she attended business school for two years and worked initially at Our Lady of Victory. From there she worked for the City of Mount Vernon Housing Authority and Westchester Building and Trades Council. After 30 years of working as the Business Office Manager of the Salesians in New Rochelle, she retired in the late 1990’s.

Helene enjoyed walking, swimming, crossword puzzles and observing squirrels and many of God’s little creatures. Helene was predeceased in death by her adoring husband, John Vincent Lorenzo in 2011 after 44 years of marriage. In addition she was predeceased in death by her siblings, Emilia Napolitano, Samuel Gaito, Patrick J. Gaito, John Gaito, Elizabeth Branca, Charles Gaito and a twin sister Delores.

She is survived by sixteen nieces and nephews and many great nieces and nephews whom she greatly loved.

Visitation will be Wednesday July 23rd from 3pm – 7pm at the George T. Davis Funeral Home, New Rochelle. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Salesian Chapel on Thursday July 24, 2014 at 10:00 a.m.
