Angela Marie Newman

Angie was a devoted mother and that extended to her grandchildren which she stated were her “greatest treasures”.

Angie was preceded in death by her parents, Rufus and Verdie Cook, her grandparents, Arnold and Juanita McMurray, her brother David Daniels, her favorite Uncle Charles Eugene McMurray, her closest Aunt, Barbara Capps and her brother in laws, Adrian Witherspoon and Lee Graves.

She is survived by her daughters, Amanda Pelayo (Rolland) of New Tazewell, TN, Samantha Bolstridge of Front Royal, VA, her grandchildren Jayla, Alijah, Jamari, Kaylani and Tylon, her sisters, Michelle Graves, Jackie Massengill (David), Melissa Cameron, all of New Tazewell, TN, a host of nieces, nephews, her smallest furry companion, Bella and many friends and family.

The family would like to extend a very special thanks to the staff at Johnston Memorial Hospital and The Cancer Center in Abingdon, VA for the love and compassion they provided to Angie throughout her journey.

The family will have a small private service for Angie on Thursday June 25, 2026. In lieu of flowers the family has set up a Go Fund Me to assist with Angie’s service and to honor her final wishes for burial.
