Brenda Lee Short

She was saved at an early age at Little Valley Missionary Baptist Church. She loved her kids and grandkids with all of her heart. Brenda was truly a royal Jewel. She was a very hardworking and devoted woman. She would do anything for her family, friends, and community. To know her was to love her. Brenda loved spending time with her kids and grandkids, making memories. She also loved being outdoors working in her flowers. Everyone's admiration of her flowers made her heart smile.

She was preceded in death by her parents Joe Thomas Brooks and Norma Lee "Yeary" Brooks. Brothers Larry Brooks, Donnie Brooks, Roger Brooks, Jeff Brooks, David Brooks, and Wesley Brooks. Father of her children James Thomas Short.

Brenda is survived by her son Luke Short and daughter Jennifer Sulfridge. Granddaughters Harley Short, Emrika Short, Alexis Sulfridge, and Malorie Gibson. Grandsons Braxton Clarkson, Ethan Clarkson, and Raylon Graves. Siblings, brother Charles Brooks, sisters Brenda Brooks, Judy Meyers, Vanessa (Robert) Johnson, and Debbie (Jesse) Couch. Special nieces Tina (Jason) Johnson, Sheri Summerford, and Lee Ann Rodgers. Special great nephew Ian Mitchell. Along with a host of special nieces and nephews. Special friends Eula Bundren, Libby Barker, Whitney Parkey, and Brittany Watson. Granddog Daisy Mae.

The family will receive friends on Thursday August 6, 2026 from 6 until 8 PM at Coffey Funeral Home. The funeral service will be on Friday August 7, 2026 at 1 PM in the Coffey Funeral Home chapel. A graveside service will follow in Irish Memorial Gardens.
