

Mr. Curtis E. Poore age 86 of New Tazewell, TN, was born April 1, 1929. He passed away Tuesday, January 19, 2016 at Claiborne County Hospital with his family at his side. Curt made a profession of faith at Mayes Chapel Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lewis and Ethel (Carmon) Poore, his brother Dillis, his son-in-law Harold Rose; two grandsons, Chad Duane and Tyan Curtis Rose. Curt mad a Military Career of the Army, belonging to the 101st Airborne. From there he went to work at Ford Motor Company Rawsonville Plant of Ypsilanti, MI. He was a man of many talents. He loved gospel/bluegrass music with Paul Williams being his favorite singer.
He married Bernice Arnold on October 28, 1950. To this union four children were born; Shelia, Larry and Greg of New Tazewell; Carlos (Ricky) of Knoxville, TN. He was blest with two granddaughters, Miranda Poore of San Francisco, CA and Erika (Dan) Emery and one great grandson, Sullivan Curtis Emery of Nashville, TN. He is also survived by his youngest brother, Loyd Poore of Monroe, MI and several nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives, friends and a cat named Tom Dooley, they were inseparable.
The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 P.M. Friday January 22, 2016 at Coffey Funeral Home with funeral service to follow at 7 P.M. Friday night in the Coffey Funeral Home Chapel. Graveside service will be in the Moody Cemetery with Military Honors when weather permits
