Dana Lewis Brogan

Dana thought he was saved at an early age, but he found salvation down Little Sycamore Road under a big oak tree. His wish was for everyone to be sure of their salvation. Dana was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Rewery and Ruby Brogan; his grandparents, Lewis and Bertha Brogan and Frank and Mary Seals.

He is survived by his son, Aaron (Corrie) Brogan; grandson, Bryan Brogan; brothers, Dale (Mary Jo) Brogan, Larry (Emma) Brogan, and Vernon (Judy) Brogan; sisters, Charlotte Mullins and Diane (Ross) Krantz; nieces, Candice (Brandon) McKnight, Tracy (Adam) Damron, and Crystal (Ryan) Watkins; nephew, Mark (Sunny) Brogan; as well as several nieces, nephews, and step-grandchildren.

He found great pride and purpose in his many years of excavation, bulldozing, and farming. He was a hardworking man who loved being outdoors, working with his hands, and caring for the land. Excavation, bulldozing, and farming were more than just work to him; they were passions that brought him a sense of purpose and fulfillment throughout his life.

While his work was an important part of who he was, his greatest legacy will always be the love he shared with his family and friends. He will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever carried in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 1, 2026, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM with funeral to follow at 7:00 PM at Coffey Funeral Home in Tazewell. Burial will be held on Friday, October 2, 2026, at 1:00 PM in the Seals Cemetery in Hancock County. Anyone wishing to follow in procession is asked to be at the funeral home by 11:15 AM on Friday.
