Dorothy Chadwell

Dorothy Chadwell, age 96, of Tazewell, Tennessee went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at the Claiborne County Nursing Home. Dorothy was born on July 21, 1918 in Harrogate (Claiborne County), Tennessee. Dorothy was the daughter of the late Porter and Serena (Brooks) Chadwell of Harrogate, TN. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers: George and Kinard Chadwell and two sisters, Juanita Parks and Bertha Rice.

Dorothy was a charter member of Hopewell Baptist Church located on Cedar Fork Road in Tazewell. She was a wonderful mother, who enjoyed working, quilting, her special friends, and caring for her family. She retired from the Dietary Department of Claiborne County Hospital on August 20, 1979.

Dorothy is survived by a loving Son and Daughter-in-law: Norman and Carruth Chadwell of Blakely, Georgia

Several nieces, nephews and special friends who have shared moments of laughter, love and prayers and they are: Lucille Brooks, Mae Brooks, Polly Brooks, Thelma Buchanan, Ella Mae Fugate, Judy Harmon, Wanda Trent, Faye Garrett Yeary, Debbie Davis, Tyler Yeary, Arville Smith, Lehman Callahan, Cindy Widner, Mildred Brooks, Peggy Parks & Pauline Bricker.

The family will receive friends Monday February 23, 2015 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Coffey Funeral Home Chapel with funeral service to celebrate her life following visitation at 1:00 P.M. in the Coffey Funeral Home Chapel.
