Fern Davis Keaton, age 73, was born November 27, 1945, and passed away on November 14, 2019 at Morristown Hamblen Hospital. She was saved at the age of 7 and was a life long, faithful member of Piney Grove Missionary Baptist Church. Fern was a kind soul who had many friends. She worked for many years in the school cafeterias of Seal-Mathis Elementary School and Hancock County High School. It was her great joy and pleasure to cook for and feed the many students through the years, always making sure they had plenty to eat. Later in life, Fern had a stroke that left her disabled and in a wheelchair. She inspired us all with her courage, endurance, and faith each day. She was a wonderful mother to her children, a caring wife to her husband, and a cheerful friend to many. She will always be fondly remembered. Fern was preceded in death by her parents, Rev. Thea Davis and Velma Maloney Davis, her sister Loraine Davis Greer, and brothers, Rev. Bruce Davis and Jim Davis.
Left to mourn her loss is her loving family: Husband of 52 years, Roy Keaton, Sons, Bobby (Dana) and Mark Keaton, Daughter Janie (Bryon) Cole, Grandchildren: Cortney, Jacob and Luke Keaton, Amber and Ashley Estes, brother Ralph (Marie) Davis; sisters, Linda (Roger) Green and Freda Davis. A large host of nieces and nephews family and friends.
