Flossie Sowders

Flossie Sowders, of Tazewell, Tn. was born on Dec. 18, 1921 in Claiborne County, Tn., but was raised in Bell County, Ky. She passed away on Friday, June 17, 2011 at the age of 89. She was a member of Red Hill Chapel Baptist Church. She was the daughter of the late William Joseph Daniels and Aritta Saylor Daniels. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 29 years, Francis Sowders; sisters, Rachel Elizabeth, Linda, Dora Daniels and Mossie Fultz; brothers, James A. Manford, Harrison, Mire. Lloyd and Radford Daniels. She is survived by her children: Daughter, Barbara and Walter Goins of Tazewell; Sons, Robert and Cathy Sowders of Tazewell and Paul and Janie Sowders of Middlesboro, Ky.; grandchildren; Chris and Angie Goins of Tazewell, April and Michael Leonard of Tazewell, Jared Sowders of Middlesboro, Ky, Jason and Amanda Sowders of Tazewell, Tn., Brandon and Heather Goins of Warner Robbins, Ga; step- great-grandson, Blake Overton of New Tazewell; great grandchildren, Mackenzie, Jackson Goins of Tazewell, Brayden Leonard of Tazewell, Brookelyn Goins of Warner Robbins, Ga.; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends from 6-9pm Sunday, June 19, 2011 at Coffey Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral service will be at 11:00 AM Monday, June 20, 2011 at the Coffey Funeral Home chapel with Rev. David Cosby and Rev. Danny Williams officiating and Singer David Painter. Burial will be in the Red Hill cemetery with pallbearers: Chris Goins, Jared Sowders, Jason Sowders, Brandon Goins, Michael Leonard, Alex William.
