Floyd's testimony was "He accepted Christ as his Savior as a 9 year old boy in ragged overalls at a school revival 73 years ago." Floyd was a life-time member of Clouds Memorial Baptist Church.
Floyd was preceded in death by his parents, Alvis and Rosa Mae Poore; brothers and sisters-in-law, Clay (Wanda), Dillis, Mack (Imogene), Jimmy (Stella), Barbara Sue and Barb Poore; one sister, Cynthia Russell; mother-in-law, Helen Massengill; son-in-law, Wade Widner.
Floyd leaves behind his wife of 39 years, Louise Poore; his children, Loyd (Debbie) Poore, Betty Jo (Michael) Essary, Shannon Smith, Susan (Billy) Collins; 8 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren and one on the way; one brother, Billy Poore; brothers-in-law, Charles Russell, Steve (Linda) Massengill; sisters-in-law, Vannah (Bill) Shipley and Geraldine Poore; several nieces and nephews and a host of friends and those that loved him.
In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the family for the purchase of a monument.
The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the women at Devita Dialysis, and the team at Morristown Hamblen Hospital for the great care they provided.
Receiving of friends will be on Tuesday, June 23, 2026 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Coffey Funeral Home in Tazewell. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, at 11:00 AM in the Baldwin-Duncan Cemetery. Anyone wishing to attend is asked to meet at the cemetery.
