Georgia worked for many years as a CNA for UT Home Health after getting her certification at the age of 50. Georgia was a Christian who loved the Lord and her church dearly. She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of New Tazewell, where she sang in the choir for many years. She is widely known for her homemade chicken and dumplings that she brought to many church functions.
If you were blessed enough to know Georgia, you know that she truly treasured the simple joys in life. A woman whose heart was always full, she found her greatest happiness in spending time with her family and friends. Her home was a place of warmth and food was one of her love languages. She loved nothing more than a long car ride with no destination in mind, she wanted to savor God’s creation and enjoy the open road and the good company. She was a founding member of the “Jug Ladies”, enjoying 32 years of annual pottery shopping trips to Seagrove, NC. A trip that wasn’t just about the pottery, but the ritual, the adventure, the apple cake and the laughter shared and memories made.
The legacy she leaves behind is incomparable, and the cherished memories will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
The family would like to express a heartfelt Thank You to her physician and friend, Rachel Wilson, DO.
