Henry S. Hayes

July 14, 1938January 16, 2013

Henry Stanley Hayes age 74 of Tazewell, TN passed away on January 16, 2013 at University of Tennessee Medical Center. He was a member of Midway Baptist Church in New Tazewell, TN. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bob Hayes and Josie Collins Hayes. He retired as a Master Sergeant E-8 in the United States Army after 22 years of service. During this time, he served in many countries including Korea, Thailand, Germany, and two tours in Vietnam. He received many commendations for his service, including several Army Commendation Medals, the Bronze Star and the Army Meritorious Service Award. He is survived by his wife of 58 years: Jane Whitaker Hayes Son: Mike Hayes and wife Scarlet of New Tazewell, TN Daughter: Julie Hayes Fulcher and husband Lee of Knoxville, TN Brother: Jack Hayes and wife Barbara of Cropwell, Alabama Sister: Betty Neely of Knoxville, TN Six Grandchildren: Lindsay Crowe, Morgan Hayes, David Hayes, Andrew Fulcher, Adam Fulcher, and Addison Fulcher Four great Grandchildren and two Nieces. The family will receive friends Sunday January 20, 2013 from 4 until 6 P.M. at Coffey Funeral Home in Tazewell with funeral service to follow at 6:00 P.M. Sunday in the Coffey Funeral Home Chapel. Graveside service will be held at 1:00 P.M. Monday at Fairview Cemetery in New Tazewell with full Military Honors. Minister: Rev. Ronnie Pressnell Music: Kenny Trent Pallbearers: Grandsons Honorary Pallbearers: Chuck Lynch, Isaac Oakes, Dana Collins, Bill Brown, Phil Greer, David Ray, David Farmer, Stan Breeding.
