Hollis "Gene" Eugene Henshaw

Gene was a loving husband and father. He loved westerns as a young child, and as a young man loved musicals which inspired him to learn how to dance. Gene also loved Elvis Presley and had his own pair of Blue Suede Shoes. He loved the mountains and hiking trails with his wife in the Smokies. Gene provided a lifetime of memories for his wife and son and will be greatly missed.

Gene was preceded in death by his parents, Jim Henshaw and Nellie Jane Burris, and his 6 siblings, Harvey, Kenneth, Beacher, Paul, and Catherine.

He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Glenda Henshaw, and his son, Scott Henshaw; brother and sister-in-law, Michael (Joan) Brooks; nephew, Ben Brooks; niece, Melanie Heifner; great-nephew, Tyler Brooks; great-niece, Haley Blanton.

The family will receive friends on Monday, June 22, 2026, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM with funeral to follow at 7:00 PM at Coffey Funeral Home in Tazewell. Graveside service will be held on Tuesday, June 23, 2026 at 11:00 AM in the Bethel Cemetery. Anyone wishing to follow in procession is asked to be at Coffey Funeral Home by 10:00.
