Jeffery Kyle Gibson, age 56, departed this life unexpectedly on November 12, 2025, at his home. Jeff was born June 25, 1969, in Middletown, OH. He lived most of his early life in the Mulberry Gap Community of Hancock Co., TN.
Jeff professed his faith at a young age. He loved the simple life and was the definition of a true outdoorsman. Jeff loved to hunt and fish; there weren’t a lot of ridges he hadn’t covered during his time on earth. He also enjoyed cooking. Jeff was famous for his fried fish, creamy mashed potatoes, fluffy scrambled eggs, but most of all his BBQ Ribs. Jeff was employed by Norris Homes in Bean Station for 20 years, which he referred to as “Alcatraz”.
Jeff was a big kid at heart. He loved to aggravate and instigate. He was the center of attention at all the family gatherings. No kid stood a chance when Jeff was around. He made everyone laugh and he was always having a good time.
Although he had no biological children, Jeff played a significant role in the lives of his nieces and nephews. He never showed much emotion; he was a man of few words; but he showed love through his actions. Always calling to check in from Powell River Road.
His presence will be greatly missed forever. No amount of words can explain a loss this great.
Jeff is proceeded in death by his father Wayne Gibson. Grandparents Ira and Susie Gibson, Bill and Margaret Cole. Mother-in-Law and Father-in-Law Sue and Roger Seabolt. Best Buddy Uncle Gene Bledsoe. Best Companion Harley.
Jeff is survived by his loving wife of 26 years Sherri Seabolt Gibson. Mother Fay Marion. Siblings Beverly (Turtle) Ramsey, Lisa Helton, Kenneth (Diana) Gibson. Nieces and Nephews Sierra and Storm Ramsey, Shiane Gibson, and Hunter Helton. God-mother Betty Wolfe. Best Fishing Buddy Gary Hill. Best “Little Hammerhead” Buddy Raylan Lynch.
