Nila Edwards

Nila Edwards, age 87, of Speedwell TN., went to be with the Lord on March 19, 2026. Nila was born on August 28, 1938 to the late Ossero and Haley Paradine Owens in Speedwell TN. Nila was the last of 11 children and was a twin to Alida Owens Drummonds.

Nila was preceded in death by her parents and her husband James Edwards, and 8 of her siblings; Myrtle Owens, Albert Owens, Dave Owens, Bonnie Hagwood, James Owens, Cleo Berry, Marshall Owens, Marie Evans and several nieces and nephews.

Nila is survived by a brother Claude Owens of Dayton Ohio and her twin sister and brother-n-law Alida and Harold Drummonds of Speedwell, TN. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.

Nila was a faithful member of Pleasant Hill Primitive Baptist Church and joined the church on December 21, 1958.

The family would like to thank Tri State Health and Rehabilitation center for all they have done for Nila during her time there. She loved them all.

Family will receive friends on March 24, 2026, from 1:00 until 3:00 PM at Coffey Funeral Home in Harrogate, service will start at 3:00 PM. Singing will be provided by Pam Baughcum and Pleasant Hill Singers. Officiating the service will be Larry Anderson and Glen Davis. Final resting place will be Hunter Cemetery in Speedwell, TN.
