Roy Lee Russell

Leroy Russell, born on July 31, 1946, peacefully passed away on October 18, 2026. A devoted and loving husband of 46 years, he left behind a legacy of faith, kindness, and deep devotion to those he cherished. A faithful member of Springdale Baptist Church, Leroy lived a life guided by his spiritual beliefs, touching the hearts of everyone who knew him.

As a dedicated husband, Leroy shared a profound and enduring bond of love and companionship with his late wife, Peggy Ann Russell, for 46 wonderful years. His commitment to his marriage was a testament to his character- patient, steadfast and full of grace.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Peggy Ann Russell; his parents, Claude and Lucile Russell; his brother, Eugene Russell (wife Judy); his brother-in-law, Pete Coffey; and his sisters-in-law, Judy Coffey and Irene Runions.

Leroy is survived by his brothers, Ual (Joheny) Russell and Clyde (Martha) Russell; his sister, Juanita "Misty" (Terry) Collins; his brothers-in-law, Roger Coffey and Bill Coffey; his special niece and caregiver, Wendy (Michael) Thomas; niece, Rebecca (Rodney) Brantley; along with many other loving nieces, great-nieces, nephews, great-nephews, family members and friends.

Leroy's gentle spirit, kindness, and unwavering dedication to his faith will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. Though he has departed from this earthly life, the love he shared and the values he lived by will continue to inspire those he leaves behind.

The family would like to say a special thank you to Jessica Chittum, Caris Healthcare, Claiborne Health and Rehab, Amedisys Home Healthcare and Addus Healthcare for their love, care, and support.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, October 25, 2026, at Coffey Funeral Home in Tazewell from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM with a simple graveside service, per Leroy's request, to follow in the Greer Cemetery.
