Ruth Edith Drummonds

Ruth Edith Sproles Drummonds of Beason Road, New Tazewell, Tn., was born Dec. 31, 1919 and passed away at her home Dec. 26, 2011 just 5 days short of her 92nd birthday. She was surrounded by her daughter, Janice and granddaughter, Cindy and family.

She was a member of Carr’s Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School many years ago. She was preceded in death by her husband of 71 years, Ray Drummonds; son-in-law, Jim Beason; parents, Rev. Samuel and Nancy Sandefur Sproles; brothers, Carl, Otis, Paul Lewis and Frank Sproles and sisters, Emma Brooks and Ruby Simmons.

The family will receive friends from 5-7 pm Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2011 at Coffey Funeral Home chapel with funeral service to follow at 7:00PM with Rev. Eddie Cole officiating. Singers will be David, Stephanie and Eddie Cole.

Graveside service will be at 11:00AM Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2011 at the Fairview Cemetery.

Pallbearers: Jeffery Walker, Bradley Collins, Makenley Barker, Danny Drummonds, Richard Hansard and nephew, Sam Sproles.
