Aunt Stephanie, our sincere condolences for your loss. We will always remember both your and  Alex’s kind hospitality when we visited New York.  May he rest in peace, you are in our thoughts. Love Ursula and family.

Alex and I first met almost 40 years ago in a business capacity when I helped him get started carrying comic books in his sports cards and memorabilia shop. We soon became friends and my wife and I would frequent Elaine’s often to see him when it was his night to tend bar. Monique and I shared many a good time, and a few drinks, with both Alex and Stephanie. As the years went by I continued to assist him with his store. It was my honor and privilege to take over the shop 10 years ago and carry on his legacy. Alex’s MVP Cards and Comics has been a staple on the UES for 38 years serving generations of collectors. RIP

R. I. P. Alex, you brought the joy of Comic books and trading cards to a few generations of Yorkville’s youth. Thanks for the memories 🙏🏻

I am saddened by the news of Alex's passing. We go way back when we worked together at Cavanaugh's on 88th and 89th 2nd ave. He had a wit and sense of humor that would put a smile on your face even on your worst day. Rest peacefully Alex you will always be remembered🙏🙏🙏my sincere and deepest sympathy to his wife Stephanie and family.

I’m so sorry to hear about this. I’ve had the pleasure of knowing Alex since i was a kid. Well a late teenager. Alex was always kind to me and because he knew i was an artist anything that was art related he would call me to the store and GIVE it to me. Drawing pads, art supplies  etc. Alex had everything in his secret stash. It was my pleasure and honor to have known Alex. He will be missed in my heart but not in my memories. Thank you Alex for being such an Amazing human being and an awesome father figure to my friend. My sincere condolences to his wife Stephanie and the rest of his family.

Alex was like a second father to me. He always took care of me and even found me another job when business was too bad to keep me on.  He pushed me to learn more and is responsible for my knowledge of computers. He bought a computer and wanted it upgraded some told me to figure it out and so I learned how to change parts in a computer.  He was a great man. And I will always remember him.

A great loss indeed. I first met Alex in 1997. I was his customer when he was the bartender at Elaine's, his customer at his comic book store Alex's MVP  and his neighbor on East 89th street. But most of all I was his friend. We shared many great meals, drinks, conversations and laughs. Rest in Peace my friend you deserve it.
