

Al grew up in Brooklyn just blocks from Ebbets Field, home of the Brooklyn Dodgers. Yet as youngsters he and his cousin Paul used to take the subway up to the Bronx to watch the Yankees play. As a result, Al became a lifelong Yankee fan.
Al graduated from the famed Erasmus Hall High School during the same era as Barbra Streisand, Neil Diamond and Lainie Kazan. He received a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Baruch College and then entered the army where he was stationed in South Korea for his tour of duty.
After completing his military service, Al joined the American Broadcasting Company where he spent virtually his entire career, retiring as Director of TV Sales Development and Marketing Services for the ABC Television Network after 35 years with the company. Al loved his work and was a talented writer and editor.
He leaves behind his beloved wife of 33 years and devoted caregiver Christine Tralongo, his brother Richard and wife Barbara, sisters-in-law Francine Townsend and husband Christopher, Michele Vumbico and husband Anthony, nephew Jason Hirschman, wife Caglia and sons Ebbin and Aiden, niece Carolyn Hirschman, nephews Eric and Brian Townsend, cousin Linda Cohen and her children David Cohen, Lara Bogner, husband Phil and son Brett, Adam Cohen, wife Roni and children Benjamin, Maya and Daniel, and many cousins, former colleagues and friends.
Arrangements made by Riverside Memorial Chapel in Manhattan. No funeral service. Interment at Sharon Gardens cemetery, Valhalla, NY on April 19, 2020. A graveside service will be scheduled for the unveiling at a later date
