Andrew H. Marks

the loving husband of Terri, devoted father of Michael Solomon (Karla), David Solomon (Dana),

Sam Marks (Isa) and Charlotte Marks (Harrison), trusted brother of Arthur Marks (deceased),

Edith Seligson (Alan, deceased), and Alice Preston (deceased), beloved “Zandyman” to Matthew

and Abigail, and an adored uncle to Nancy (John), Kate (John), Andrew (deceased), Drew

(Chuck), Ben, Chloe and Ian. A proud graduate of Yale University (Class of 1961—still

undefeated!) Andy spent more than six decades as an insurance executive, starting his career at

Schiff Terhune. In 1986, he founded MLW Services, an insurance brokerage firm he took great

pride in building, which was ultimately acquired by AJ Gallagher. He was an avid sailor who

competed in two Newport Bermuda Races and was happiest hoisting the sails of his Herreshoff,

Lagniappe, on Three Mile Harbor. Andy was a proud member of the Harmonie Club and Yale

Club, a camper and founding member of the Alumni Association at Camp Androscoggin, and

served on the boards of the Lighthouse Guild and Breakthrough New York. A master at

connecting with others, his life was a testament to the power of relationships. A memorial

service will be held at the Harmonie Club, 4 East 60th Street, on Tuesday, January 14, at 4pm. In
