Angela was born on March 25th, 1944 in Ballincurry, Drumlish, Co. Longford, Ireland. Although small in stature, Teens had a giant impact on all who knew her. She was loved and cherished by all around her and will forever be missed by her family and friends.
Angela came to New York on September 12th, 1962 following her sisters Mary and Bernadette and brothers Michael and John. Although it was not love at first sight, she would eventually become the quintessential New York woman, never wanting to live anywhere else. A wonderful blend of the old world and the new in one person, she reveled in her adopted home. Her family would often joke that she would be lost if she wandered too far from Lexington Avenue. She was later followed to New York by their youngest brother Joseph.
It was in New York that she met her husband Patrick. Angela and Paddy would eventually marry and go on to have three children together, Emmett, Brian, and Jennifer. Over their 48 years of marriage, she was a wonderful wife and mother. She provided the perfect example of how to live life and instilled great values in her children. She proved that kindness, compassion, and strength were qualities that lead to success and happiness. Though she dealt with several bouts of illness in her life, she handled it with grace and strength and she was always relentlessly hopeful and upbeat. Angela had a powerful and unwavering faith in God and was a constant communicant at St. Jean the Baptist and St. Ignatius Churches.
Angela was also the proud grandmother to seven grandchildren, Grace, Alice, Kathryn, Liam, Jack, Patrick, and Garret.
In her last months, Angela was very lucky to have the most wonderful care from Kathleen Prunty, Margaret Caherly, Kathleen Devine, Carmel Boyle, and Orla McSweeney. They treated her as they would their own mother and Angela’s family will be forever grateful for their love, compassion, and unbelievable commitment.
Angela is survived by her husband Patrick, and her children Emmett, Brian, and Jennifer, their spouses, Paige, Amy, and Justin. Her seven grandchildren and brothers Michael, John and Joe, and sisters Mary and Bernadette, as well as, many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Theresa. She will be sorely missed by all!
