

Born December 10, 1928 in Northampton, PA, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Anna Grabarits. Her life was filled with service and love. Anna graduated from St. Joseph Hill Academy, Staten Island, in 1947 and then entered the Daughters of the Divine Charity until 1975. She earned a Bachelor of Education from Seton Hall in 1965 and a Masters of English from Seton Hall in 1968. Anna taught in both private and public schools for over 15 years. She also worked as a payroll/personnel secretary at Louis D. Brandeis High School during which time she was awarded secretary of the year for the borough of Manhattan in 1991.
Anna’s favorite interests included books, theater, cultural events, church, and family. She was an avid reader and participated in book clubs.
Anna is survived by seven nephews, two nieces, 25 grandnieces/nephews, and eleven great-grand nephews/nieces; as well as brother-in-law Bill Kane. She was predeceased by her parents Frank & Anna Grabarits, her brother Frank Grabarits, and her sister Irene Kane (husband James Kane).
Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Monday, October 7, 2024, at Chas. Peter Nagel Funeral Assoc, 352 East 87th Street, New York, NY 10128.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00am, Tuesday, October 8, 2024 at Saint Joseph Catholic Church, 404 East 87th Street, New York, NY 10128
Graveside services will be held Tuesday afternoon, October 8, 2024 at Our Lady of Hungary Cemetery, now known as Queenship of Mary Cemetery, at Main and Second Streets, Northampton, PA.
