I am so sorry to hear of Art's passing.   He was the epitaxy of a kind, gentle person.  He will be missed.

I don't know if the family will ever see this, but I want to express my appreciation and great fondness for Arthur.  He was a wonderful, visionary partner as the board member with whom I interacted the most at JCCA.  He (and his brother Bob) were responsible for bringing research and quality management to JCCA, an area I had the honor to head.  Arthur was supportive and thoughtful throughout, even when we were in dispute - I enjoyed sparring with him (most of time!) - in this regard he reminded me of my own grandfather, also a strong personality.  Arthur was deeply committed to the children we served as well (importantly) as their families.  He truly made an important contribution to the disadvantaged children and families of NYC.  I have missed him.  May his memory be for a blessing.
