Barbara Wacksman

Barbara (Bobby) Wacksman passed away peacefully at home on the morning of April 10, just 7 days after celebrating her 91st birthday. She was surrounded by her loving family throughout her life, as well as in her final days and hours.

Loving daughter to Victor and Augusta (Gus) Zentner, and sister to Marvin (predeceased). Bobby is survived by her eternally loving husband of 68 years, Leonard (Lenny), daughter, Bonnie, son, Jeffrey and his wife Margo, son David and his wife Tatiana, grandchildren, Alexander, Ashley, Taylor, Spencer, Isabella, Victor, Jake and Emma.

Barbara attended the first female class at Bronx HS of Science. After helping break that glass ceiling she attended Baruch College and then worked as the assistant personnel director at Mount Sinai Hospital. After marrying the love of her life and becoming pregnant she then dedicated her life to her family.

The family will hold a private service on Tuesday, April 11. Shiva will be observed on Tuesday and Wednesday April 11 & 12, from 5:00 – 8:00 pm at Jeff and Margo’s home at 1065 Nine Acres Lane, Mamaroneck, NY.
