I loved Betty very much. News of her passing is a sad shock to me. This evening I actually just called my parents to ask about Betty and Sam and that is how i found out. 

 When i was young, I travelled often with Betty and Sam during my summer vacations.  Betty was a friend to me. She loved talking with me. Betty was such a good wife to Sam. She was always amused by Sam’s humor and  patient with his many requests for gifts from every single retail store we entered. In the city, i was sometimes invited to join dinner at Betty’s also. What a beautiful clean home she kept and I was so impressed with their having a super light off white or cream colored carpet__i could not fathom how it could stay looking so perfect. But it did. 

Once Edgardo joined us as well for a long road trip traveling in Dordogne, France .   I remember how terrified my parents were that Edgardo’s interest in speed racing could somehow translate to fast driving on our trip!  It didn’t. And I remember how impressed I was with Edgardo’s respect and his big heart and kindness to both his parents. Edgardo, I can only imagine how grief stricken you are. You are a wonderful son.  

 I am very sorry to Sam and to Edgardo and to Betty’s two daughters Andrea and  Deborah. You had a wonderful mother.

I have not seen any information about a Shiva. Had I known about a memorial or Shiva in the city, i would like to attend to honor Betty’s Life.
