It is with great sadness that I write to say goodbye to a special friend and neighbor. I will always cherish Bernice's stories and memories of times long ago. She feared nothing and was an inspiration. I listened with awe of her trip across the top of Capri on a rickety cable car with the wind in her hair. I had been to Capri not long ago and was too afraid to ride it, but when I am there next year I will bravely take my seat and with white knuckles and  a look of panic on my face I will be thinking of Bernice, my brave friend.  She will be missed. Carol

Dear Ivy,
So sad to learn of your mom’s passing yesterday. Recalling the many wonderful memories with our families dating back to the summer of 1963. Condolences to the rest of your family and everyone who loved Bernice.
