Carol Lamberg, retired Executive Director of Settlement Housing Fund, low income redevelopment nonprofit, passed peacefully on January 20th at age 85 years. Carol was a visionary who dedicated her life to improving equality through affordable housing and reform. Carol was the leading force that created New Settlement Apartments, state of the art school and community center in the Bronx, Manhattan Plaza for performing artists, Two Bridges, Semi-Perm and many more developments that transformed neighborhoods. Carol changed the lives of thousands of New Yorkers for the better with impact that will last for generations to come.
She is survived by her loving partner, Don, her son Andrew, daughter Donna, stepson, Tom, stepdaughter, Lisa, granddaughters Celina and Anik, step grandsons Jasper and James, and step granddaughter, Hannah.
Funeral Services will take place on Friday, January 24th at Riverside Memorial Chapel at 11:00 AM. 180 West 76th Street in Manhattan.
