

Chris Gillespie was born in Princeton, NJ, alongside his twin brother, Sam. In 1976 his family relocated to Providence, RI where he attended The Wheeler School. Subsequently he graduated from Haverford College with a degree in Art History and obtained an MBA from New York University.
Early in his career he worked at Feigen Gallery and The Lower Manhattan Cultural Council, in NYC. The majority of his career was spent at The Ford Foundation, where he worked for the past 27 years, most recently as Director of Grants Compliance.
Chris is survived by his sister Ann (Bob) of Bolton MA and brother Porter of Providence, RI as well as nephews Wesley and Michael, and niece Zelda. He was predeceased by his twin brother Sam, and his parents Nancy Gillespie and Dick Gillespie.
Chris loved to travel— to Italy, France, UK, Prague, Japan, South Africa, and Canada among other destinations. Often his trips included special concerts or shows planned long in advance. He was a gentle soul and a calming presence to many. He will be remembered for his kindness, love of music, and his infectious sense of humor. He will remain in the hearts of all who loved him.
