Cindy Coletta, nee Yamamoto, age 60, a long time resident of New York, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 8th of cancer, with her loving husband Joe of 37 years at her side along with her loving niece Desirae Coletta. Cindy did not let her cancer diagnosis slow her down. During her radiation and chemotherapy treatments Cindy insisted on working and living with a positive attitude no matter how bad she felt. Throughout her illness she showed more concern for her husband and others than for herself.
Cindy was the youngest of 3 children born on May 12th, 1962 to the late Charles and Ethel Yamamoto of Honolulu, Hawaii. Cindy is preceded in death by her loving sister Sandy and brother Dixon of Honolulu, Hawaii. Cindy is the loving daughter in law of the late Joseph and LaVerne Coletta of Chicago, IL. Loving & caring sister-in-law to Diane Coletta of Chicago, IL, Tina (Nick) Ortega of Chicago, IL, Anthony Coletta of Muskego, WI and Celeste (Dominic) Fontano of Addison, IL. Loving aunt/great aunt to numerous nieces and nephews.
Cindy was born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii and in 1980 met a handsome young man that was attending the University of Hawaii who later became her husband. They moved to Chicago, IL where her husband Joe grew up and began a great career in retail. She worked at Lord & Taylor, Nautica, Fubu to name a few. They eventually relocated to Orange County, CA for their careers and then onto New York where Cindy was her happiest. Cindy held many executive positions and traveled extensively for these companies. Cindy decided to hang it all up become the Director of Operations with NYC restaurant groups. Cindy loved her life in New York, and her pets CeCe, Austin, and Mini Max.
A memorial service and celebration of her life will be held at Cooke and Nagel Funeral Home 352 E. 87 Street, New York, NY. 10128 on Tuesday September 20th, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
