Dear Lopez Family,

My wife and I are saddened for your loss. Danny was a good friend to me over the years, invited me to visit the 205, met at the track and had many special times. He will always be in our thoughts and prayers.

I accompanied my sister to your wake this evening and I know your sister Bridget for many years. I am letting you know that the service was fine...great family and friends. I got to hear many things about you and your life...your pictues showed how your smile broad and wide was shared often. I heard you loved cats too so you are automatically a friend now. Have a great time in heaven...look up my brother and nephew...I prayed they find you to show you the ropes.

Danny we go back as far as the Traffic Dept. You introduced me to my wife Laura Hansen. I have a picture of you and the guys from Engine 292 and Rescue 4, on the day we moved out to Long Island, 27 Year’s ago. You’re the Godfather of Robin, my first born. My daughters call you Uncle Danny. You hold a special place in our hearts. You will be dearly missed. Rest In Peace Dear Friend. Now you’re with your favorite Lieutenant Bobby Wallace.

Danny ,
Half the things you said to me I could not understand , you were such a low talker . Maybe you were just to short for me to hear you . I always laugh when I think of that , and you knew that .
I'll miss you and Ann Marie calling me at 3::00 am every couple of weeks just to say hello . Always perfect timing , Anita really appreciated that .
I always laugh when I think of that ,and you knew that .
What I will miss ,and my family will always be grateful for is how you helped us after September 11 th . You got us through it with great stories at E-205.
I always laugh when I think of that , and you knew that .
I'm missing you Dan , I love you , but you knew that.
