Merle and Chad - so sorry for your loss. I know Dave will be missed by so many. I worked closely with Dave for almost a decade after Berkshire Partners acquired Carter’s in 2001 at which time my partner Brad Bloom and I joined the board. Whenever there was a problem, Dave knew how to fix it. I also enjoyed playing golf with Dave at Atlanta National and a favorite story he’d tell of his getting to College and having the football coach yell at him for not running drills at full speed in practice (he was!!). We’d lost touch more recently, but his partnership with us will always be remembered and appreciated. On behalf of Dave’s friends at Berkshire, Ross

A wonderful friend, a mentor. Dave shaped my life and was always there when advice was needed. He was generous with is time and would give an arm for a friend in need. He will be missed at the deepest level. Merle and Chad, thank you for sharing him with us for all these years.

Too many great memories to list. Some highlights were Auburn football games and Vegas trips. A special memory was being with Dave at the 2014 College Football Championship game at the Rose Bowl. Auburn vs Florida State- what a game. And a Vegas side trip as well. Special man with a huge heart. If the world were made up of Dave Browns- it would be nirvana! He will be greatly missed!!
