David Semmel

David Semmel passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 7, 2021 from complications of prostate cancer. He was born June 28, 1941 in Brooklyn, NY to Abraham and Freda Semmel. He graduated from Pratt Institute and went on to work for many years with different advertising agencies as an art director. His first marriage to Linda ( on the very day President Kennedy was assassinated, November 22, 1963.) ended in divorce but produced two sons. He married his second wife Shelley in the 1980’s and then in the 1990’s he began his own boutique advertising agency focusing on the hospitality industry. He and Shelley had a wonderful life and many years together of love, laughs and travels. She predeceased David and passed away in 2013.

He had a love of classical music and sports. Especially football. He taught himself all the ins and outs of football as a child, while he started watching his beloved Los Angeles Rams on TV in the 1950’s and in a different life would have made a terrific football coach.

David is survived by his brother Arthur and his wife Maria. His son Joel and grandchildren Brandon, Ashley, Brianna, and Andrew. His son Ethan and his wife Debbie and grandchildren Jake and Matty.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM. on Sunday, October 10th in King Solomon memorial park in Clifton NJ
