Deborah Stein

Deborah Stein, age 95, of New York, NY passed away peacefully at home on July 20, 2024. Deborah was born on May 26,1929 in New York City to the late Harold and Ruth Goldman (née Hirschman). On March 27, 1949, she married Jerome Stein at the Hotel Pierre in New York City. Her husband predeceased her in 1994. She is survived by her son Judson Stein (Debra) and daughter Cynthia Lessick (Steven); grandchildren, Danielle Chizzik (Andrew), Alexis Schlacter (Jason), Jacob Lessick, and Jennifer Lessick; great-grandchildren Max, Owen, Will, Lily and Ross; and several nieces and nephews. Her brother, Kenneth Goldman (Judy), predeceased her. A private graveside service will be held at Cedar Park and Beth El Cemeteries in Paramus, NJ. Deborah was a graduate of Columbia High School in Maplewood, NJ and a lifelong member of Mountain Ridge Country Club in West Caldwell, NJ. Before returning to Manhattan in 1982, Deborah was a long-time resident of South Orange, NJ. The family requests those who wish to express sympathy to consider making a donation in lieu of flowers to Jewish Federation of Northern New Jersey or New Jersey Audubon.
