Dennis was the most amazing attorney, confidant and adviser that The Brooklyn Tabernacle could ever have had. He was always professional, knowledgeable and pleasant, a rare combination in the world of high-powered attorneys. Dennis always took the time to "look out" for us and advise us just as he would a family member.
Dennis was very proud of both of his children who were both accomplished in their own rights and of whom he spoke so fondly of as he did his beloved wife. Dennis will certainly be missed. He was a rare breed of both friend and adviser who so generously gave of his time and spirit.
Dennis rarely missed his weekly Talmud readings at the office and was very touched by one of the songs from The Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir's 6 Grammy Awards called, "Shalom Aleicham" which he, in turn, sent to his son. The story in the Talmud relates the story of "two angels accompanying a person on the eve of the Shabbat from the synagogue to his home.” The Sholom Aleichem song greets these Shabbat angels, requests their blessing, and bids them farewell.
Dennis was like that Shabbat angel to all of us here at the Brooklyn Tabernacle--he accompanied us to our new home in downtown Brooklyn and gave us mountains of great advice along the way. He will be greatly missed but his legacy lives on with us.
Blessings to the Konner Family and Shalom Aleicham, dear friend!
