

With heavy hearts, we share the passing of our beloved mother, Dolores G. Diaz, on November 15, 2025. Her life was a testament to love, resilience, and unwavering faith, and her absence is deeply felt by all who knew her.
Born on February 25, 1940, in San Felipe de Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic, Dolores grew into a woman of remarkable strength and generosity. From her earliest days in Puerto Plata to the life she built in the United States, she carried with her a warmth of spirit and kindness that touched countless lives.
Dolores was a devoted Christian, a loving mother, a cherished grandmother, and a pillar of strength and kindness for her family and community. She was completely devoted to her family. Her children remember her as a caring guide—always ready with practical wisdom, and unwavering support.
Dolores was known for her steadfast faith, strong work ethic, amazing cooking skills, green thumb, and her warm smile that welcomed everyone. She was generous with her time and always made her home a place of refuge to anyone in need. She gave freely—whether offering a home-cooked meal, sharing her favorite memories of Dominican Republic, or recounting countless memories of her childhood.
She is survived by her daughters Francia, Ruth, Elizabeth, and Bethel; and her grandchildren Ashley, Alexander, Samantha, Anthony, Eric, Jared, Christian, Rea-Lynn, and Alondra.
A funeral service will be held on November 23, 2025, at Walter B. Cooke Funeral Home, located at 352 E 87th St., New York, NY 10128. The family will be welcoming friends and loved ones from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Dolores will be deeply missed, but her legacy of love, tradition, and compassion will forever live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her. May her memory be a blessing.
