

Doris M. (Gibson) Stuart beloved wife of the late Joseph Stuart entered into the warm embrace of the Lord Saturday, November 12, 2011 at the Queens Boulevard Extended Care Facility. She was born December 13, 1927 in Brooklyn, New York to the late Richard Gibson and the late Delphine Ann Gibson.
She was educated in the New York City public school system. She attended the Bellevue Schools of Nursing. She pursued her career as a Registered Nurse at Bellevue Hospital. During this time she met the love of her life, the man who was destined to be her soul mate, the late Joseph Stuart. Their love lasted over fifty years until he passed away. Though not having any children of their own, they shared their love and lives with a host of pets, nieces and nephews. She worked at Bellevue Hospital for ten years. She then began practicing as a newborn private duty nurse.
She was a long time Manhattan resident. During her retirement she volunteered teaching crochet at her local senior center. She loved to cook, travel and was a passionate animal lover. She was the cornerstone of the family that kept them connected. All who knew Doris will miss her conversation, quick wit and lovely smile.
She leaves five brothers and sisters Rosanna Chica, Benjamin Gibson, Michael Green, Irene Fulton, Barbara Green and a host of nieces and nephews.
