Ellen was a treasured and inspiring Professor, mentor and friend who I will never forget and always feel grateful for having known.

I will miss Ellen, she was a dear friends to us, first as New York City neighbors in Greenwich Village, then when Ellen visited us on many occasions in Colorado, visits full of joy and laughs.  This is very sad.

I was Ellen’s hairdresser for many years. She was always a pleasure to spend time with - I particularly enjoyed her humor and wit. 

Ellen was a true New Yorker, a woman of style, and someone who genuinely wanted to make the world a better place. I feel grateful that I was able to spend so much time with her - and she was even a photography model for me one time! I will remember Ellen with fondness always. 

My heartfelt sympathy to her family.
