7 years but it feels like yesterday still. Just now your voice is a vague memory. I have a daughter now her name is Venus. I’m also married. I wish you were here to see my life now. I wish you were here to hold my hand, to mess my hair up, to teach my daughter to love books, I miss you so much. You’ll forever live in my heart.

So it’s been forever I really didn’t get to express my words at the funeral my heart was broken . Drew was and still is my best friend I did some thing I wish I could take back he never changed how much he loved and cared about me . Since a little girl he was there for everything . The first pair of glasses I ever got , my first training bra , my first time shaving the no hair I had under my armpits , my first day of public school , he taught me how to make eggs and omelette he taught me to love myself , he taught me to love books and reading , he taught me my first big word “abduction” I miss him so much everytime I watch law and order I think about how happy he would be to see that stabler is back and has his own series now we used to watch law and order all day until the baseball games came on whew ! Yankees and the dolphins football team he wasn’t much a giants fan lmao he thought they could do better . He was my person the person I cried to the person I told all my problems too my achievements too and he never neglected me always helped me and told me right from wrong made me feel like I was the most important and smartest . I miss him telling me stories about Jboy and lol the time when him and David was younger and he went to school with David’s pacifier and the teacher made him have it in front of the whole class or the time his teacher called him Andrew ( he hates that ) and his dad came down to the school and told her ! Or the rolling stone stories he always had a story to tell me wow I miss him he loved his family so much I’m still extremely grateful that he made me apart of his family - Samantha 

Three years but it feels like just yesterday.  All I have are memories. Everything reminds me of him. He would sing these old song and tell stories about his life. He taught me how  to play the guitar not that im any good at it. He made me fall inlove with books. He wasnt aloud to go to Barns&Noble without me. Unless he picked out a book for me also. We did everything together because he wasn't just my grandpa he was bestfriend,my other half. As I write this im in tears because all I have are memories now and memories aren't the same as the real thing. Drew was an amazing person and anyone  that got to meet him are very lucky to have that memory. 

I picked up my guitar again today after many years of it sitting in the closet. Inside were several sheets of songs that Drew wrote out for me, along with the chords. He would tell me to forget those songbooks, they're never right...here's the way it goes. Brought me back to playing in his basement in Bayside...we would be playing a song and I would drop my pick and stop to pick it up. He would shout at me "what are you doing? we're playing in front of 10,000 people and you're going to stop to pick up your pick?". He would always make me laugh. There are too many songs that always bring him to my mind. I miss him.
To Dewey Truscott and the Golden Warriors, I hope you're playing the gig you deserve.

drew was private , loving , and humble. he was a comedian at home and such joy to be around. In his last few weeks of his life we were very close. As I wrote these words I remembering he saying to me if it was not for me he would have long gone, but my families and myself have given me the reason to live so don't cry. It was painful and I prayed to God to let him live a little longer. God knew best and he stop his pain and took him to be at rest. he spoke about his brother a lot and how  he help his mom when his dad had passed away. everyone that knew drew would have one last word "Gone too soon". he will always remember love and cherished in my heart
